National Lutheran Choir celebrates, invigorates and expands sacred choral music, bringing inspiration and meaning to people of diverse faith and backgrounds.

Vision

To unlock, unite and uplift the human spirit through artistically excellent sacred choral music.

Values

• We believe the soulful experience of choral music has the power to transform and unite.

• We seek artistic excellence in all we do.

• We value the Lutheran choral tradition as a living culture and a growing body of work that expands as it is influenced by musical and spiritual practices from around the world.

• We acknowledge that through action and inaction our community has been exclusionary and there are members of our human family whose value has been ignored; and,

• We commit to the dynamic work of the journey toward greater diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging for all God’s people.

The artistic vision of the National Lutheran Choir is:

1. Rooted in sacred music where it honors the experience of the Lutheran tradition,

2. Expresses musical experiences that speak to relevant cultural and artistic aspects of our society in the present, and

3. Works toward a dynamic, diverse artistic product that sets the bar for life-changing musical experiences for all people.

Strategic Goals

1. Engage in educational opportunities, community partnerships, tours, and artistic collaborations for all ages and abilities.  

2. Welcome and support artists, audiences, and leaders who reflect the diversity of our local and national communities.

3. Expand audience, increase awareness, and grow revenue by performing and educating in the digital space.

4. Assure ongoing organizational vitality by cultivating financial support and stewarding human resources.
