Spring Concert: Light and Dark

So often a shroud of darkness forms around those living under an iron fist, but music is the light that flickers, maintains, and grows despite the circumstances. Light and Dark explores the music of equatorial regions and the dark north of Europe. Influenced by each culture’s unique climate– where cold night breeds mystery and the warm sun imbues a particular colorfulness– music fills the role of storytelling in a unique and fascinating way.

Winter Concert Live Recording: “Carols We Love to Sing”

Carry on the Christmastime cheer, and join the National Lutheran Choir’s live concert recording of Carols We Love to Sing. Audience members will have the opportunity to both listen to National Lutheran Choir perform special arrangements of carols and participate in the recording session by singing along to popular congregational hymns.

Carols We Love to Sing will be the third volume in the popular Hymns We Love to Sing CD series. During the concert, Dr. Cherwien may need to repeat selections, which will allow audience members to experience the National Lutheran Choir’s recording process first hand. After the Winter Concert Recording session, the CD will be curated, produced, and made available on our Recording Shop. The first two Volumes of Hymns We Love to Sing, released in 2005 and 2010, are available today at NLCA.com/shop.
