The National Lutheran Choir (NLC) is celebrating its 25th season in 2010-2011. One aspect of the NLC mission is to support choral composers and the art of sacred choral music. In keeping with its mission, the NLC is sponsoring this Choral Composition Competition in celebration of our 25th season. The winning composition will be performed at the season’s culminating concert in May 2011. The composition may be considered for publication by MorningStar Music Publishers as part of the NLC Choral series. The winner will be awarded a $2,000 cash prize, with the possibility of two honorable mentions at $500/each.
Chorus America has awarded the 2007 Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence to the National Lutheran Choir. Robert Harris, a member of the Chorus America Board of Directors, presented the award to the National Lutheran Choir and David Cherwien at a June 9, 2007 ceremony in Los Angeles.
The Board of Directors of the Luther Institute has unanimously authorized the presentation of a Wittenberg Award to the National Lutheran Choir.
The National Lutheran Choir is proud to release its latest recording: From Light to Light. Featuring a commission of the same name by J. Aaron McDermid, From Light to Light is a delightful collection of highlights from the choir's last four concert seasons.

The National Lutheran Choir recently received a $100,000 grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation, Appleton, WI.
