Topic “Season Subscription Concert”

Ye Shall Have a Song

Our fifth concert of the season features three sets of glorious a cappella choral music.  The first includes music of the great choral composers of Europe: Gabrielli, Lotti, Palestrina and Purcell.  The second set is the world premiere performance of The Song by composer Dan Kallman, commissioned by the National Lutheran Choir for this concert series.  The concert will close with a complete performance of The Peaceable Kingdom by Randall Thompson, including Ye Shall Have a Song, the theme for our 24th season.

Hymns We Love to Sing - 2

Come and join as a congregation together with the National Lutheran Choir to record a second CD in this tremendously cherished series: "Hymns We Love to Sing."  Familiar hymns such as Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, The King of Love My Shepherd Is, It is Well with My Soul, and spirituals such as I Want Jesus to Walk With Me and Steal Away.  Plus, more recent and beloved hymns such as O Blessed Spring and You are Holy will be sung creatively combining congregation, choir, organ, piano and other instruments, all captured for replay (and re-singing!) any time and place.
